The cleaning process prior to using your mortar is called "healing". These steps are needed only once, when the product is new.
"Healing it" will remove the excess material (stone dust) that your mortar may have on its surface and will prevent the produced powder from mixing with the food prepared on it.   Se le llama curar al proceso de limpieza previo a usar tu molcajete. Estos pasos sólo los deberás ralizar una vez, cuando el producto es nuevo. El curado removerá el exceso de material (piedra) que pueda tener la superficie concava y evitará que este polvito se mezcle con la comida que se prepará en él.

How to "heal" my mortar? | ¿Cómo se cura mi molcajete?"

You'll need: 1 Brush    |    200g (aprox) raw rice    |    50g salt   Step 1. You must wash your mortar with a brush and water, to remove any remaning dust that might be embedded between the pores and let it dry.    Step 2. Place 100g of raw rice into the mortar. Start grinding it with the help of the pestile in circular movements over the entire concave area. Keep these movements until the rice is completely pulverized, you will notice that the rice powder acquires a gray tone, due to the stone dust.   Step 3. Remove the powder from your mortar with the help of the dry brush and pour the 100g of salt. Start grinding again in circular movements for about 5 min or until you obtain fine salt. (Remember to do this procedure for the entire concave part).   Step 4. Again clean-up your mortar with the help of the brush and water, and repeat the instructions in Step 2.   Step 5. Once the rice powder looks as clean as possible (not grayish), wash your mortar with water using the brush and let it dry.   YOU ARE DONE! Your mortar is "healed" and ready to use with any food. (Remeber this process is only done once)    Necesitarás: 1 Escobetilla   |   200gr (aprox) de arroz crudo   |   50gr de Sal de grano  Paso 1. Primero deberás lavar tu molcate con agua y la escobetilla, para retirar el polvo que pueda estar incrustado entre los poros, y déjalo secar. Paso 2. Coloca 100gr de arroz crudo dentro del cuenco y comienza a moler, con el tejolote de tu molcajete | mortero, en movimientos circulares y en espiral sobre toda el área concava. Manten estos movimientos hasta que el arroz esté completamente pulverizado, notarás que el polvito de arroz adquiere un tono gris, debido a la roca que se desprende. Paso 3. Retira el polvito del arroz de tu molcajete | mortero con ayuda de la escobetilla seca y vierte los 100gr de sal de grano en el cuenco y comienza nuevamente a moler en movimientos circulares y en espiral por unos 5min o hasta que obtengas sal fina. (Recuerda hacer este procedimiento por toda la parte concava). Paso 4. Nuevamente limpia tu molcajete | mortero con ayuda de la escobetilla y repite las indicaciones del paso 2.   Paso 5. Una vez que el polvito de arroz se vea lo más limpio posible (no grisáseo), lava tu molcajete con agua y con la escobetilla y deja secar. ¡LISTO! Tu molcajete | mortero está curado para poder utilizarlo con cualquier alimento que desees. (Recuerda que este proceso sólo se debe realizar una vez).

La piedra de basalto resiste temperaturas de hasta 1,250ºC lo que la hace ideal para sellar
tus cortes de carne delgados o mantener tus alimentos calientes. La plancha se puede colocar directo a las brazas o en el horno    ATENCIÓN: Tener precaución al manejar la plancha caliente ya que puede causar quemaduras en la piel si se toca directamente.
